First day blues

Hrmph and womp. I had to park approximately two miles from my first class, even though I got here a good thirty minutes before class started. It’s windy and sunny but cold. My nose is running. I’m still directionally challenged and have walked the majority of the campus in heels. Now that last thing is totally my fault, but they’re just little heels, and I was trying to be cute. At the very least my ankle is sprained. Heels are now on notice. Sneakers and sweats only, except that I have to look semi-nice for work. My feet and back hurt. Everything is heavy, and I’m not even carrying the big books today. Adding my labs at this point is a huge runaround and all the offices are hard to find and/or have moved. And I can’t work out my work schedule until I get my class schedule situated. I reiterate my complaint about the building and room organization system. I am NOT A FAN. Books are expensive and lines are long. At least my misery has quite a bit of company; the book store was filled with sighing, frustrated, overwhelmed students. Somehow I managed to locate my car so I could deposit excess bookage, and I sat there for a few minutes to regroup. Joel said that yes, I could have a pizza delivered to my car, but I decided against it.

On the up side, I think I will like my genetics class, and AirRowdy plus my PowerBook G4 equals crazy delicious. I’m in the middle of what will become a regular four hour break on Tuesdays and Thursdays, perhaps eventually filled by work, so it’s nice to have this as a distraction. I could also use this time to study so that after my evening classes I can go home and fat around. I’ll get into the swing of things, and if last semester is any indication, I’ll be taking finals before I know it.
