Books pushed aside momentarily

I want to wish very happy birthdays and much love to three family members: Jenna, Steve, and Gram. (An apology accompanies the loud celebration, as the gifts may be late…)

Boo for daylight savings time, but yay for spring! It’s gorgeous outside. Things are really greening up, and my flowers look happy. Chief has taken to basking outside in utter relaxation, sprawling to take full advantage of the sun, then barking when he’s ready to return inside. He’s so funny. Since some days I’m not home to feed him lunch, I’ve been writing notes to Joel on our message board whether or not he (Chief) has eaten. I have tired of this inefficient behavior, so we made a little two-sided card. It will be laminated. I just can’t get enough of his face.

It was a good and unexpectedly productive weekend. We watched four (!) movies and anxiously await what Netflix will send next. Joel and I have been decluttering the house little by little; yesterday was the laundry room. What a difference thirty minutes can make. Eventually we will have conquered the whole house and have organized rooms and lives. Things aren’t that bad to begin with, but tackling them now will save us hassle when get ready to sell, whenever that may be.

Let’s see. School… No exam scores to report yet (probably won’t, actually), but classes are bumping along. Work… I’m officially not in love with my job, but there are aspects I enjoy. Life… I’m taking steps to minimize the frequency of my bad days, mainly in how I deal with things, which is really the simple lesson my Granddaddy spoke of since I can remember (it’s not what happens to you – it’s how you deal with it). Articulating my priorities as to what really matters has helped with that: family first, then health, then school, then work. OH YEAH and my friend totally had her baby! She is healthy, beautiful and a week old today. 🙂
