Happy Halloween, if only in words…

10.31.06 | 4 Comments

People such as my dear Brady perhaps expected some pictures of festive cookies here today, but alas, there is not even a fun-sized candy bar in my house. Though I had long dreamed of being a pregnant nun for Halloween someday, there will be no costumes in my world this year. I just had no excuse to make anything or dress up, and I figure the next 10 years will be spent trick-or-treating with our little one, so I’m planning to watch a DVD and keep the porch light off tonight. We’re at the end of the street and I’m already that crazy pet lady who doesn’t get out much, so I’ll just keep with the theme. Kids will walk by and scare each other with stories of what might happen if they come to my door; perhaps a few will accept dares to ring the doorbell… Vicious licking dog attacks; slant-eyed cats with Halloweeny markings emitting cursed vibes; the round-bellied witch hatching her alien child just before midnight… MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Update: Long story short, right after I posted this, my next door neighbors invited me to their Halloween party, and I decided I would go. I made some cookies from dough I had in the freezer, which turned out to be gamey. I realized this after having made the frosting, so I decorated them and took pictures; they are now in the trash. I had already gotten dressed as Pink Is the New Blake, an idea that came to me in the shower that just tickled the heck out of me. (See: Pink Is the New Blog.) Having purchased no candy and with cookies that would surely end in a Halloween trick and treat fright of their own, I resigned myself not to go, but I took some pictures to document my cleverness anyway. (Brady, these are for you.) Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
