Though my lower back pain has reached an all-time high, I can remove one thing from my list of anxieties: Sarge around children. Yesterday we had our friends’ 10-month-old little girl at our house crawling on the [freshly steam-cleaned ] floors, and Sarge got flat on the floor and crawled with her. It was adorable. He sniffed and paid happy attention to her, and he never made an oafish move. I haven’t been too concerned about Chief, but Sarge had no experience with kids yet. They were both great with the baby as well as my other friend’s 3- and 7-year-olds. It’s as if they know to be careful. We have to do our part to make sure Zoe is seen as a pack leader, but at least they have the idea already.

Someday I might again write about something besides baby or pets. I do get a little antsy without work in my life, but I’m doing what I need to do right now. Only three weeks until the due date, but Tuesday we could find out there is even less time until she’s actually here! I am officially full term now, so it could happen any day.
