Finding a comfortable sleeping position these last few weeks has been a challenge, but I have had some success with a combination of extra pillows, a husband, and pets; I consider the following to be optimal:
Chief is back support, Joel aligns the hips, and pillow supports the belly. Sarge doesn’t do much for structure, but he’s warm for the feet. Sophie is best positioned out of my way. (Wanda tends to sleep on her own downstairs, which is actually good because she makes me itch.) Anyway this makes for a good night’s sleep. My Prenatal Yoga and Fit & Firm Pregnancy DVDs have some good stretches for my sore muscles, too.
Upon the recommendation of a friend who is also a mom (thanks, Ann!), we got a Safe & Secure Sleeper for Zoe to go in our bed at first to make night breastfeeding easier; don’t worry – the pets will not continue to sleep in the bed once Zoe comes home.

Nice visual representation of your sleeping arrangment! So a Valentine’s Day baby?! That is so great! Hang in there. I know you are ready…. Just enjoy being pregnant a bit longer and milk it for all it is worth!
j/k.
I’m definitely ready to HAVE her, but not QUITE prepared for afterward! We’ll learn as we go, I’m sure… As for milking it, if I had known Joel’s massages were so good for back pain, I would have asked sooner!
YAY!!!!! You’re going to be so glad you got that when you’re trying to recover… trying to rock the baby cradle with my toes while leg is stretched out of the bed at at 90 degree angle to reach AND recovering with staples in my tummy…. totally NOT an ideal situation!
See that illustration is funny because somehow that pregnant girl looks just like you. I know that’s funny, but how did you do that?
I… am an artist.
