Baby, General, Life, School

Loves it!

On the Mama front: I am definitely enjoying motherhood! It’s pretty constant and exhausting, but very much worthwhile. Everything I do is in little half-hour bits throughout the day as we establish a routine. At this point I am fairly confident that my nipples will not fall off as I had previously thought, and I may someday sleep again. No word on whether my pants will ever fit… I have lost 20 pounds, but there are still about 8 to go.

On the Zoe front: the umbilical stump is off, so she has been enjoying real baths. I was cleared to drive last week, and we have had two outings, one to the post office and one to Target. She slept both times. She is spending more time awake during the day, which is unnerving because I have no clue what to do with her. I hope she doesn’t suffer developmentally because of something I’m not doing that I should be.

On the home front: the washer has gone on the fritz after a tragically unbalanced load. Hopefully the repairperson can fix it tomorrow, as there are mountains of laundry to be done. After Joel actually witnessed the shimmy-shake problem I have been describing for about a year, the Jeep has been deemed unsafe to drive on the highway or above 50 mph; we are now in search of a different car. Oh and we’re moving in a matter of weeks. We are preparing the house to be sold and making arrangements for where we will live when Joel is free of his job (SOON!). One might say we are fleeing the city; perhaps we will say more on that later.

On the school front: it looks like it’s a no for this year. There has been some mention of a wait list, but I’m not holding my breath. Better luck next year, I hope. 🙂

Zoe is alert for now, so I think we will take advantage of this gorgeous day and go for a stroll.
