Zoe has started to request things. Yesterday it was the bag of chocolate chips she found in our Baking Corner. She brought it to me with a questioning grunt, and I swear, batting her eyelashes. She is her mother’s daughter.
This morning it was the chocolate chips, followed by a box of mac and cheese. We buy Annie’s organic kind in bulk from Costco, and due to a recent need to put the trash behind a closed door, there is no room in the pantry, so she rifles through the big box of it at least twice a day. The poor dear – her favorite food so far has to be cheese, followed closely by pasta and salmon.
I made it for her, and I snuck in a cup of finely chopped broccoli. She seemed not to notice. I would never want to impart any of my neurotic food issues. Hopefully with moderation and activity in her life (provided by examples from her parents?), she can eat whatever she wants.

Yes – cheese is a staple in our house, too!
We, too, are hoping for the ability to eat whatever he wants! Ah, to reteach the adults to eat healthier!
