Momming is HARD. Without a doubt it is the most difficult thing I have encountered in life so far, and I know most Moms out there have a lot less help than I do. Now more than ever I appreciate the work that goes into being a Mama. (Zoe, if you’re reading this someday, you are totally worth every second, and I would do it for a million lifetimes just to know you once.)
There’s a concept I have always liked about how your job as a mother is to work yourself out of a job, how part of being a Mom is that some bittersweet day your children will be self-sufficient. I’d say that’s generally true, until they become parents themselves. My Mom and my Mom-in-law are the greatest, and there is no way I could do this Mom thing without them. Now they’re Grand Moms, too, so they’re really Momming double time. Thank you, thank you, thank you to my Mom and Joel’s Mom for everything you are to me, for the women that you are, and for all I have to learn from you.
Today I’m sending good vibes to all the Moms I know.

We feel lucky and blessed to have had you so close this past year, allowing us the opportunity to grandparent so frequently. Momming is a hard job sometimes, but it comes with a great benefit package.
We love you all dearly!
