The following is a story according to Joel, as it occurred on my day to get things done without a toddler in tow.
Joel took Zoe to the zoo on Wednesday, where apparently all of Houston decided to spend that day of their spring break. Zoe rode on her Daddy’s shoulders much of the time due to the crowds. At one point she started saying, “Turkey! Turkey!” He looked around, and not seeing any large birds, asked her to show him. She repeated herself, not pointing, again and again. Finally, she said, “I NEED water!”
OH! Thirsty!
I’m still marveling at her ability to get her point across. Sure, she gets frustrated, but usually it’s because the answer is no and not that she can’t express what she wants.

SO smart!
