My Scar

My Scar June 22, 2005

Here are three to four inches of my six-inch scar one year after surgery to remove my ovarian tumor. That’s a swimsuit I’m wearing, by the way. The darker spots are hyperpigmentation caused by the chemo. There are streaks like that all over my body, like I scratched or something, especially on my back. I’m hoping they’ll fade eventually. Anyway, the scar looks great after a year, and in another six months it should be even better.

Here is the scar during pregnancy in December 2006, two and a half years after surgery.

Return to the ovarian cancer experience to see the tumor, progression of hair growth after chemotherapy, and an update of my life now.
